Creating a market
Anyone can create a leveraged market for any Solana token on derp.trade, instantly and for free. No approval, no minimum liquidity required.
When to create a market
- The token you want to trade is not listed yet on derp.trade.
- You want to be the first to trade a newly launched token with leverage.
- You want to create a market for a niche or community token.
How to create a market
- Click Create Market or Import Token on the main page.
- Enter the token's mint address or search by name.
- Review the details and confirm.
The market is created immediately and is ready to trade.
What happens next
- The new market starts with zero open interest - no positions are open yet.
- Pricing comes from the token's spot liquidity pools via price oracles.
- Anyone can now trade this market - it appears in the market list for all users.
- The AMM's liquidity grows organically from fees and funding payments as the market is traded.
New markets are riskier
Newly created markets for illiquid tokens carry higher AMM payout risk. The AMM's liquidity pool starts small and needs trading activity to grow. Use lower leverage and smaller positions until the market matures.
