Fees and costs

Here is everything you pay when trading on derp.trade. No hidden fees.

Trading fees

Every trade (opening or closing a position) has a 0.7% fee based on the notional value of the position. Opening and closing means 1.4% total for a round trip. The fee is capped at 30% of your collateral (when opening) or 30% of your position equity (when closing).

The fee is split three ways:

• 0.3% goes to the AMM's liquidity pool - this strengthens the market.
• 0.1% goes to the market creator - a reward for listing the token.
• 0.3% is a platform fee.

Example: You open a position with 10 USDT collateral at 10x leverage. Your notional position size is 100 USDT. The opening fee is 0.7% x 100 = 0.70 USDT. When you close, you pay another 0.70 USDT. Total fees: 1.40 USDT.

What happens when you get liquidated

Liquidation is not a fee, but it is worth understanding where your remaining collateral goes. When a position is liquidated, the remaining equity gets split between protocol participants:

• 50% goes to the AMM's liquidity pool.
• 30% goes to the platform.
• 10% goes to the market creator.
• 10% is returned to you as a liquidation cashback.

You do not lose 100% of your remaining equity - you get a small portion back. The majority is redistributed to strengthen the protocol.

Funding rates

Funding is an ongoing cost (or reward) for holding a position. It keeps markets balanced:

• If more traders are long than short, longs pay a small fee to shorts.
• If more traders are short than long, shorts pay a small fee to longs.

Funding is charged every 15 seconds in small amounts. You can check the current funding rate on the market page before opening a position.

Gas fees

Solana transaction fees are low - typically less than $0.01 per transaction.

No hidden costs

• No account creation fees - connect your wallet and start trading.
• No market creation fees - creating a new market is free.
• No deposit or withdrawal fees - the protocol does not charge for moving funds in or out (only standard Solana gas applies).
